Experience:
Dr. Sleight (pronounced "slate") taught full-time in the University of Washington College of Engineering from 1978 to 1989, and was a founding member of the Industrial Engineering Program faculty there. He served as coordinator of SPU's Adult Learner Program (1989-1991) and in the School of Business and Economics as our MBA coordinator (1991-1996). These different jobs all combined his skills in teaching and technology. Since 1996, Dick has been the Manager of Information Systems for SBE, overseeing the McKenna Computer Lab, the SBE Web site, faculty technology training, and all aspects of instructional and administrative technology for the school.

Dick is an active sports photographer, an artist, an avid reader of British Naval fiction from the Age of Sail, and he leads a weekly men's Bible study in Bellevue.  He has been married since 1981 to Nancy (a 1977 SPU graduate).  Daughter Ann Disher is a teacher and graduated summa cum laude from SPU in 2010.  Son Nathanael is a Physics/Chemistry major at SPU and in his senior year on the Track and Cross Country teams.  And daughter Jean is a freshman at SPU; a singer, actress, athlete, and an accomplished videographer and video editor.
