SCHOLARSHIP OPPORTUNITIES

Sallie Mae Unmet Needs Scholarship
This scholarship provides financial assistance to students from low-income families through the Sallie Mae Fund. The scholarship will supplement any financial aid packages the student is receiving and awards range from $1,000 to $3,800. Students must submit a completed application, Student Aid Report, Financial Award Letter, and transcript of grades to Scholarship America. Deadline is May 31, 2007. NATAS Northwest Scholarship
The Board of Governors of NATAS Northwest Chapter, in cooperation with the University of Washington School of Communications and the families of Elizabeth Wright Evans, Pat Egan, Arthur Pattison, and Don McCune have established the NATAS Scholarship. The goal is to sustain promising students in pursuit of studies in the field of television. Applications must be postmarked by April 1, 2007. [link]


AES Engineering Solutions Scholarship
Student applicants will submit an essay of no more than 1000 words answering one of two questions: (1) Tell us about an external influence (person or event) that affected you and how it caused you to change direction; or (2) Explain what you have done to make your community a better place to live. Give examples of specific projects in which you have been involved. Amount of award is $500. Deadline for entry is September 15, 2007. Submit essays at scholarships@aesengineers.com.

ANNOUNCEMENTS

Nominate a Student for Barnabas Servant Leadership Award
Do you know a student who demonstrates Christian character, has made a commitment to on- or off-campus service, shows willingness to take on tasks regardless of recognition or challenge, and demonstrates leadership? If so, we encourage you to nominate this student (or students) for the Barnabas Servant Leadership Award. They will receive $750 cash grant and a contribution of $250 given in their name to a charity of his/her choice. Students must also be seniors during the 2007-2008 school year. Lost and Found
Do you know that there is a "Lost and Found" located at the Uni-Com desk in the Student Union Building? They have several lost items of clothing, including jackets, gloves, and socks, reading glasses and also several water bottles and school books! If items are not claimed by the end of the school year, they will be donated!

Gwinn Commons Open for Spring Quarter
Tuesday, March 27, 5:00-6:00 p.m., Gwinn Commons will be open for the 1st meal of Spring Quarter.


SPRING QUARTER CLASSES BEGIN!
Wednesday, March 28, Class instruction begins.


SPU Education Recruiting Fair
Wednesday, March 28, 4:30-6:30 p.m., Gwinn Commons. Recruiters from local schools and school districts will be at SPU for teaching and school counseling candidates. This will be a "fair" type setting. Dress professionally and bring along copies of your resume.


Waitlist End and Deadline to Add Classes
The waitlist will end Thursday, March 29. If you did not receive confirmation of registration by Thursday, please stop attending the waitlisted course. THE LAST DAY TO ADD CLASSES is Tuesday, April 3. You will be able to register, add, and drop classes until 5:00 p.m. on April 3.


2007 Women's Gymnastics MPSF Championships

Thalia Orchestra Concert

SPU Men's/Women's Crew Invitational
