John Gyles Education Awards
If you are a student with full Canadian or American citizenship, then listen up! The John Gyles Education Awards are now available to students in both the United States and Canada. All you need is a minimum 2.7 GPA and Canadian or American citizenship. It's that easy! Stop by the Student Financial Services office and pick up an application today! Selected students could receive up to $3, 000! Deadline for this scholarship is April 1. If you have any questions please contact Glenda at Glenda@spu.edu.


WSTLA Essay Contest
Hey all you soon-to-be-lawyers: here is a scholarship for you! The WSTLA American Justice Essay Scholarship Contest is here. $2,000 will be awarded to the students who are chosen attending a two or four year college in Washington State. To find more on what the topic is for the essay and to find applications for the scholarship, come down to the Student Financial Service office and pick one up today. Public Relations Scholarship
The Puget Sound Chapter of the Public Relations Society of America is awarding the Sally Heet Memorial Scholarship to a student pursuing a public relations career. Eligibility includes being a full time student with junior or senior standing; demonstrate aptitude in public relations and related courses, activities, or internships, academic achievement, and U.S citizenship. Applications are now available in the Student Financial Office, and the deadline is March 28. If you have any questions please contact Glenda at Glenda@spu.edu.


Young Alumni Council Scholarship
Hey all you juniors: here is a scholarship for you! The Young Alumni Council of SPU has established a scholarship for an SPU senior who has demonstrated academic achievement and a commitment to volunteer service off campus. The scholarship of $500.00 will be awarded annually to a senior who excels in the community and the classroom. Students should apply their junior year to receive the award their senior year. The full application can be accessed at: http://advance.spu.edu/yac/scholarships.asp. All applications and materials are due by March 29, and references must be received by April 5. The 2004 Second Essence journals are now available. If you pre-ordered a journal, please pick it up at the Humanities office on the 2nd floor of Marston. If you did not order a journal or would like to purchase and additional copy, there are a limited number for sale. All journals come with the Second Essence CD. Final Men's Basketball Games
Come cheer on your men's basketball team this week as they finish up their 2003-2004 season. Thursday the Falcons take on Alaska Fairbanks; Saturday they face Alaska Anchorage. Charlie Peacock Concert
Charlie Peacock brings his innovative and genre-transcending work as a songwriter, record producer, musician, and writer to SPU on March 5 at 7:00 p.m. in the Art Center Gallery. Peacock has produced Switchfoot, David Crowder Band, Nichole Nordeman, Audio Adrenaline, and Sara Groves (to name just a few). A pioneering artist and mentor, Peacock will mix thoughts on vocation and stories from his experience in the music industry into an acoustic concert featuring some of his best songs.
