YAC Scholarship Applications Available
The Young Alumni Council of Seattle Pacific University has established a $500.00 scholarship for an SPU senior who has demonstrated academic achievement and a commitment to volunteer service off-campus. All current junior students are encouraged to apply. Applications are available online at http://advance.spu.edu/yac/scholarships.asp and must be submitted to Student Financial Services by Monday, March 29. The YAC is excited to award a student who excels in both the classroom and the community!

Enhance Your Resume & Tour Microsoft!
From now until June 15, not only can you enhance your resume by passing a Microsoft Office Specialist Exam but you will also be entered into the 2004 Microsoft Office Specialist Worldwide Academic Competition (Excel and Word Exams only). Should you score high enough, you will be invited to an awards banquet at Microsoft where you will receive your grand-prize, as well as a tour of their facilities. What better way to make a name for yourself than with the world's largest computing company. Interested? Each test, including tax is $54.40. Second Essence Unveiling
Second Essence, SPU's journal of the arts, invites you to attend this year's Unveiling, on Tuesday, February 10, at 7:00 p.m. in the FFMC Fine Center. Join us for this unique event where selected student faculty, staff, and alumni read their works, play their music, and show their artwork. A limited number of journals will be available for purchase for $15. Come take part in the free food, interesting works, and creative company and help us celebrate the official release of the 2004 Second Essence. Summer Recruiters Making Winter Visits
It is not too early to begin thinking about Summer Employment! Throughout February, a variety of employers will be on campus recruiting for summer staff. For a complete listing of recruiters, see the Job Board (in Student Financial Services) or go to www.spu.edu/studentjobs. All recruiting events will take place in the Student Union Building. Interview sign-up sheets are also posted on the Job Board for certain recruiters. The Summer Job Bin has been placed next to the Job Board. This is a great resource for a variety of opportunities throughout the US and abroad. Don't wait until the last minute, make summer plans early!
