Tutoring


Struggling with a difficult class?  Tutoring is a great way for you to get help.  Get started by stopping by the Center for Learning and requesting a tutor.

Tutoring sessions are provided for many courses. (See list below.)  Tutoring services are available during fall, winter, and spring quarters.

Individual and Group Tutoring

If you would like tutoring for a subject area not listed here, please contact the Center for Learning front desk.  We will attempt to arrange tutoring for you for your particular class.


Group Tutoring

Small groups of students in a particular class can request a group tutor.  Contact the Center for Learning front desk for more information.

General Tutoring Information


Fees
Each student pays $3 per 50 minute individual appointment or $2 per group tutoring session. Tutoring is a fee-for-service program, subsidized by the university; payment is due when the tutoring appointment is scheduled. Scholarships are available. If you are concerned about being able to pay for tutoring, please contact the Center for Learning at 206-281-2475.

Scheduling and Tutor Assignments
The front desk of the Center for Learning schedules tutoring appointments. To schedule an appointment, stop by the front desk or call (206) 281-2475. Tutoring typically takes place in the Center for Learning in Lower Moyer Hall. Depending on each individual tutor's schedule, most sessions occur Monday through Friday between 8 a.m. and 8 p.m.

Becoming a Tutor
Tutors are faculty-recommended students who have at least a 3.2 GPA and have completed tutor training. If you are interested in becoming a tutor, pick up an application from the Center for Learning or click here to download a tutor application, information sheet, and reference form.
