to the Center for Learning Website!
The Center for Learning assists
students in reaching their academic potential. The Center offers a number
of services for undergraduate students who would like to improve their
learning skills or increase their academic success at SPU.
- Tutoring is
available for many classes such as biology, psychology,
statistics, and others. One-hour individual and group sessions
are provided for a minimal fee.
- The Writing Center,
staffed by trained peer tutors, assists students in improving their
writing skills for current courses (free of charge).
- Individual Learning Consultations are available for students who wish to discuss specific learning concerns and strategies with a professional staff member.
- Academic Success Courses
are offered, covering topics such as time management, test-taking,
memory, stress management, reading rate and comprehension, and learning
styles.
- Student Academic Mentor Program supports
student learning in 1000 level Common Curriculum
courses.
- The ACCESS Program provides individual support to targeted first-year students as they make their transition to university academics.
- Resources on a variety of topics related to student learning and success are also available here.
- Disability Support Services helps students with documented learning, physical, medical, or psychological disabilities receive appropriate accommodations. Follow the link or email us for more information.
