Completing the Application

This Application for Admission web form provides an overview of the admission process. It asks for information about your academic and professional background, your performance on the GRE exam, and presents the essay questions which allow you to introduce yourself to us.

Academic Credentials

List all colleges and universities attended from which academic credit was earned.

Tests

Master of Business Administration

All applicants must take the Graduate Management Admission Test (GMAT) and have their official score report sent to SPU, (GMAT school code #4694). Applicants are encouraged to begin the application process before the GMAT exam is taken. A minimum admission standard has been established of 460 (20 verbal, 24 quantitative, and 3.5 writing).

Master of Science in Information Systems Management

All applicants must take the Graduate Record Exam (GRE) and have their official score report sent to SPU, (GRE school code #4694). Applicants are encouraged to begin the application process before the GRE exam is taken. A minimum admission standard has been established of 975 (450 verbal and 525 quantitative).

Each applicant for whom English is not his/her first language must submit an official score report from the Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) regardless of previous course work. A TOEFL score of 565 has been established as a minimum admission requirement. Applicants should also include any evidence of successful participation in ESL training programs.

Recommendations

Two recommendations from academic or professional sources are required, one of which must be prepared by an employer. Respondents should address the applicant's character, scholarship and potential for success in a graduate level management degree program. Recommendations from employment managers or supervisors are strongly preferred.

Personal Statement

This three to four page essay is your opportunity to introduce yourself to the School of Business and Economics. Both content and presentation will be considered in the admission decision.

Résumé

A current résumé is also requested.

Visiting Graduate Students

Students who have been admitted to a graduate degree program in another accredited institution may enroll, with the approval of the School of Business and Economics, for up to nine credits at Seattle Pacific University.

To gain admission as a visiting graduate student you must:

  1. complete and submit the MBA / ISM application form excluding the essay section and recommendation letters and;
  2. submit a letter from the Dean's Office of your home institution stating that you are a student in good standing at that institution.

Financial Aid Guidelines

To apply for financial aid through Seattle Pacific, you must complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) to verify need. The FAFSA may be obtained from a secondary school or a college financial aid office.

A significant number of MBA and ISM students pursue their graduate education with the aid of tuition reimbursement programs sponsored by their employers. Consult your employer for information about such programs.

Application Deadlines

The submitted Application for Admission and personal statement (essay) must be received by the dates below. Recommendation letters, transcripts, résumé and test scores must all arrive before an admission decision can be made.
