Freshman Scholarships

We know you’re looking for scholarships, and we make applying for them simple. Just send in your regular application, unless otherwise noted. You can receive multiple scholarships with the exception of the merit scholarships, (Deans’, Presidents’ Trustees’, or SPU Scholar).

Deans' Scholar Award*	$6,000	GPA: 3.60; SAT: 1130; ACT:25
FIRST Scholarship (2)	$5,000	Merit-based scholarship for high school seniors who have participated on a FIRST Robotic Competition team during their junior or senior year. Download Application
Ames Leadership Scholarship	Up to $5,000	For ethnically diverse students with leadership potential. Download Application
Summit Seeker's Scholarship (1)	$8,000	Parent(s) current or former missionaries in a third world country. Four-year award, amount decreases by $2,000 per year.
Fine Arts Scholarship	Up to $3,000	Audition process: Click here for an Online application.
Free Methodist Scholarship (2)	$2,000	Affiliated with the Free Methodist Church.
Philip W. Eaton Scholarship	$3,000	Significant leadership and service in school and/or in the community.
Alumni Scholarships	$1,500	Parent(s) graduated from SPU.
Ministry Service Awards	$1,500	Parent(s) active and formally affiliated full time with a Christian church, mission, or para-church organization.
National Merit Scholarship (3)	$2,000	National Merit Semifinalists or Finalist (SPU 1st choice).
Church Matching Scholarship	Up to $500	Church must apply to participate: Call 206-281-2061 for an application.
SPU ROTC Academic Achievement Award (2)	Room and Board	For consideration, students must be a recipient of a three or four year scholarship from Army or Air Force ROTC.
NCAA Division II Athletic Scholarships	Varies	Contact coaches by calling 206-281-2085.

Note: Scholarship amounts and award guidelines are subject to change at the University’s discretion, and they may be adjusted based on the competitiveness of the applicant pool.

* The guidelines shown for the awards noted with an (*) reflect an average of GPAs and SAT scores earned by students who entered SPU beginning in Autumn 2006. A student may receive no more than one of these (*) awards during the same academic year. Average SAT scores based on Critical Reading and Math sections.
