Sara Koenig joined the faculty of SPU as an adjunct professor in the fall of 2002. She became a full-time faculty member in the fall of 2003.

Dr. Koenig’s dissertation focused on the biblical character of Bathsheba in Samuel–Kings and in the history of interpretation. Her primary approach to the Bible is literary and theological, with special interest in ethical implications.
