About the Director
Dr. Ellis began his career as a teacher in schools in Renton, Washington, and Beaverton and Eugene, Oregon. After completing his doctoral work at the University of Oregon, he took a position as professor at the University of Minnesota and remained there for seventeen years. Dr. Ellis came to SPU in 1986. Currently he teaches courses at the Masters and Doctoral levels. His responsibilities as the Director of the Center for Global Curriculum Studies often takes him overseas to Russia, China, Spain, and other interesting places. His main hobbies are travel and jogging.
