Governor Chris Gregoire has directed that Washington State and United States flags at all Washington State agency facilities be lowered to half-staff on Tuesday, August 16,
in memory of U. S. Army Sergeant Alexander J. Bennett of Tacoma, Washington. Bennett died along with 29 other service members when their helicopter crashed in Afghanistan on August 6.
The governor asks that other government entities, citizens, and businesses join in this recognition.
