STEM Eligible

Seattle Pacific University currently offers a range of STEM-designated degree programs, meaning a number of our academic programs fall within the regulatory definition of the STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Math) field as approved by the United States Department of Homeland Security (DHS). These fields are recognized by DHS for their STEM-focused content. SPU’s designated programs are designed to instill the technical expertise that employers are looking for in their future hires. STEM proficiencies provide a competitive advantage to students interested in working in global and domestic markets. Additionally, F-1 nonimmigrant students who have completed 12 months of post-completion OPT and receive a degree in an approved STEM field of study, as designated by DHS, are eligible for a 24-month extension of OPT.

In addition to offering rigorous STEM-eligible undergraduate, graduate, and doctoral programs, SPU is ranked a Best National University by U.S. News & World Report and also offers a full range of other undergraduate majors, plus master’s and doctoral programs.

Any new additions to these areas will automatically be included on this STEM-Eligible Degree Program list.
