New Endowment for Ethical Leadership

SPU is pleased to announce the establishment of the Bruce R. Kennedy Endowment for Ethical Business Leadership. SPU's Senior Gift Officer Kristi Nelson worked with Karleen Kennedy to establish this endowment to honor the legacy of Karleen's late husband, Bruce R. Kennedy.

In personal and public life, Bruce was committed to upholding the truth of the gospel and living by it. He was held in high regard for his commitment to integrity and ethical business leadership, both by those under his leadership and by those who observed it.

Bruce was awarded honorary doctorates by both Seattle Pacific University and his alma mater, the University of Alaska. This endowment will provide funding to the Center for Integrity in Business for the purpose of hosting visiting scholars at the University. The scholars will spend time on campus interacting with students, faculty, and the surrounding business community, thus enriching the scholarly conversation and building a robust body of knowledge articulating a faith-based understanding of the purpose and practice of business.
