Marjorie R. Johnson is the senior vice president for university relations at Seattle Pacific University. Under her leadership, the Office of University Relations provides marketing, communications, fundraising for annual giving, alumni and parent relations, and enrollment management to achieve SPU’s strategic goals, and in support of SPU’s mission and vision.

Meet Marj Johnson
For more than 15 years, Ms. Johnson has led University Relations, where she oversees the University’s marketing and communications, as well as enrollment planning and management for undergraduate and graduate admissions, including student financial services. Beginning in 2013, she took on oversight of fundraising for annual giving, and alumni and parent relations.
Her areas of expertise include enrollment management, undergraduate admissions, student recruiting and marketing, and strategic planning.
Since arriving at Seattle Pacific in the summer of 1981 as director of undergraduate admissions, Ms. Johnson has stepped into positions of increasing responsibility at SPU. She has served as dean of enrollment services; vice president of enrollment services and assistant to the president; vice president for university relations; and senior vice president for administration and university relations.
She has served under SPU presidents David McKenna, David Le Shana, Curtis Martin, Arthur Self, Philip Eaton, and now Dan Martin.
Ms. Johnson earned her bachelor’s degree from Nyack College in 1973 and a master’s degree from the New School for Social Research in 1975.
