to SPU SPU’s Queen Anne and Magnolia Garden Tour Press Release FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE SPU’s Queen Anne and Magnolia Garden Tour on June 3 Seattle, WA- Seattle Pacific University’s annual Queen Anne and Magnolia Garden Tour will be Saturday, June 3, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. The event will begin in Upper Gwinn Commons, located on the SPU campus. The tour features a presentation by Lorene Forkner, owner of Fremont Gardens, award-winning garden designer, and SPU alumna. She will discuss “Discover Your Inner Garden-Maker,” and demonstrate container gardening. Admission is $18 per person in advance, or $20 the day of the tour. In its fourth year, the popular SPU Garden Tour combines the gardens of an arboretum-like university campus with fantastic residential gardens on Queen Anne Hill and in Magnolia. This year’s tour includes six residential gardens, a guided tour of SPU’s award-winning gardens by SPU head gardener, Jeff Daley, student musical performances, and complimentary coffee. Sponsors for this event are SPU and the Starbucks Coffee Company. Forkner is a garden designer, writer, and speaker. She is a two-time gold-medal winner at the Northwest Flower and Garden Show, and is currently a Northwest Horticultural Society representative on the Pacific Horticulture board. Founded in 1891, Seattle Pacific University is a premier Christian university that equips people to engage the culture and change the world.
