For the last few years, the eastern state of Orissa, India, where Joab Lohara serves as a Free Methodist Bishop, has experienced exponential growth in Christianity, even as it has become a global economic and technological powerhouse, drawing people from all points of the globe. It is a land of stark contrasts, with those born into the lowest castes living under blue tarps in the shadow of gleaming new office buildings. How does one minister to the poorest of the poor in this landscape, and what are the implications of worldwide population shifts for sharing the gospel?
