Seattle Pacific University presents Reconciled - A Gospel Oratorio

University Presbyterian Church joins with SPU in this performance of Reconciled.

Experience the fusing of two American genres into a new kind of worship that will stir your soul. Seattle Pacific 's nationally acclaimed Gospel Choir and Wind Symphony perform in a Northwest concert featuring original music by award-winning composer Gerry Jon Marsh and commissioned by the SPU Center for Worship. Marsh was a finalist for the Arlin G. Meyer prize for this symphonic work. The award is given biennially by the Lilly Fellows National Network for exemplary work in the practice of Christian artistic or scholarly vocation.

Stephen Michael Newby is director of the Center for Worship, director of the Gospel Choir, and associate professor of music at Seattle Pacific. A songwriter, composer, and publisher of many musical styles and traditions, he also serves as worship leader for Promise Keepers and Integrity Music.

Gerry Jon Marsh is director of music technology, director of the Wind Symphony, and is part of the music composition faculty at Seattle Pacific. An award-winning composer and arranger, in 1998 he was inducted into the Washington Music Educators Association Hall of Fame.
