Changes for Financial Aid Recipients

Student Financial Services (SFS) has made some changes to the financial aid process. If you are a current financial aid recipient and will be returning next year, here is a list of things you can expect after you file your 2006-07 Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA).

  • You will receive an email from SFS requesting further information if, in order to create your financial aid package, additional documents are required.
  • You will receive an email notification that your Offer of Financial Assistance is ready to be viewed on your BanWeb account, and you will not receive a paper copy of your Offer of Financial Assistance.
  • You will need to sign and return a Master Conditions of Financial Aid form one time while receiving aid at SPU. Please read it carefully.
  • You will need to complete a Master Lender Selection form once while receiving federal Stafford loans at SPU.
  • If you decide to change your Stafford loan lender after the Master Lender Selection form is completed, or would like to make any changes to your Offer of Financial Assistance, you will need to contact SFS by email, phone, or in writing.
  • You will no longer need to sign and return your Offer of Financial Assistance.

If you have any questions regarding these changes, please contact Student Financial Services at 206-281-2061, or send an email to sfs-info@spu.edu.
