Hoods up! Don’t Miss the Graduate Hooding Ceremony
Master’s students will gather on Friday, June 10, for the start of the Graduate Hooding Ceremony at 8:45 a.m. in Martin Square.
This ceremony is for graduate students who have earned
their master’s degrees. Program directors, deans, and professors who have walked with these students through the program will honor them as part of an annual SPU tradition.
Doctoral students should also attend this ceremony in preparation
for their participation in Ivy Cutting.
All students should be dressed in regalia and arrive by
8:30 a.m.
Other key graduation details:
- At 9:25 a.m., following the Hooding Ceremony, master’s and doctoral graduates will join the faculty for the processional into Tiffany Loop for Ivy Cutting.
- At 7:30 p.m., graduates will gather for Baccalaureate in Royal Brougham Pavilion, followed by a reception in Upper Gwinn Commons.
- At 12:30 p.m. on June 11, Commencement will take place at Qwest Field
(Seahawks Stadium). Students should arrive at 11:30. Tickets are required
and are free to students. Tickets may be picked up at Student Academic
Services on the first floor of Demaray Hall once a student has registered
online. Students are responsible to distribute the tickets to their
guests. Admission to Qwest Field is restricted to ticket-holders only.
- Online registration for Commencement must be made through the Banner Information System by Friday, May 27. Those who do not register online will by unable to participate in Commencement.
