Students from SPU’s Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages (TESOL) program will make several presentations at the upcoming TESOL 2005 Convention in San Antonio, Texas. A team of SPU students — Heather Anderson, Keith Van Eaton, Mila Ng Tari, and Cheryl Henkle — joined teams from two other schools in assembling the convention’s Graduate Students Forum (GSF): a mini conference that allows master’s-level students to share the results of their research, their teaching ideas and experiences, and to network with graduate students and faculty from other universities. Two SPU students will be presenting at the GSF. Heather Anderson’s presentation is entitled “Developing a TESOL Portfolio.” Sueanne Parker’s presentation is called “Language Play in Adult L2 Learning.” Mila Ng Tari is one of the presenters for "Voices of NNES Graduate Students in North America," a colloquium organized by Dr. Katya Nemtchinova. The colloquium discussion offers participants a chance to share their experiences and examine the obstacles they face and the advantages they enjoy in American and Canadian graduate programs. |
