If you’re looking for ideas for yard or your garden, or if you’re just curious to get a glimpse of the greener grass on the other side of the fence, Seattle Pacific University invites you to a special springtime event. You’ll be able to tiptoe through the most amazing backyards and gardens in Seattle without anybody calling the cops. In fact, you’ll get to leisurely stroll and observe, welcomed with smiles, hot Starbucks coffee, and live classical music by SPU student musicians.

The SPU Queen Anne and Magnolia Garden Tour gives you the opportunity to explore select residential gardens on Queen Anne Hill and in Magnolia. You’ll get tips for your own garden during two informative presentations at SPU: a morning lecture by Seattle Post-Intelligencer garden columnist Marty Wingate and an afternoon presentation by Seattle-area garden writer and editor Debra Prinzing, an SPU alumna.

Also, be sure to join SPU’s head gardener, Jeff Daley, for a tour of the university’s award-winning landscapes and perennial borders.

  • When: Saturday, June 5, 2004, 10 a.m.–3 p.m.
  • Where: Program begins at Seattle Pacific University, Upper Gwinn Commons, 3307 Third Avenue West, Seattle, Washington
