“Here are the principles that drive our planning efforts: Our plan must be about vision. It must also be about students. It must be about faculty. And it must be about community.
Our vision at Seattle Pacific calls us to sharpen the powerful tools of the Christian university so that we can bring hope into the world. We seek to bring the transforming power of Jesus Christ into the lives of our students, and to our campus, and to the far reaches of the globe. I am convinced we must focus on that profound moment of encounter between students and faculty. We’ve got to enroll the right students, support our faculty, and focus our resources in ways that enhance the encounter between students and faculty.
We must also continue to work on community. The best education for students, and the best environment for teaching and research for faculty, takes place in community. We will devote our energies to strengthening Christian community at SPU.”
