Feb. 20, 5–6 p.m. Taiwan Lecture at Weter Hall, Room 202. Associate Professor of History Zhiguo Ye presents a talk on why Taiwan has become the biggest risk for a U.S.–China clash and explores the likelihood of an imminent crisis.


Feb. 20–23 Spring registration begins for all admitted students currently in attendance.


Feb. 24, 8 p.m. Barbie Movie Night. Upper Gwinn. Hosted by the Student Union Board.


Feb. 27 Scott Erickson, artist, author, and spiritual director will be at two events at SPU: Erickson will speak on “The Journey of Lent” at SPU Chapel at 11:10 a.m. at the First Free Methodist Church; Erickson will speak on “Art Against Despair” at 7 p.m. in Upper Gwinn.


Feb. 28 Last day to withdraw from courses.


March 1, 7:30 p.m. First Free Methodist Church. SPU Winter Choir Concert. Open and free to the public. Wheelchair accessible.


March 3 Deadline for graduating students to order their Commencement regalia and be able to pick it up at Grad Fest on April 12.


March 4 Spring registration begins for new admits.


March 5 Deadline for new and continuing students to cancel their Spring housing applications and contracts to receive a refund of their housing deposit.


March 6, 7:30 p.m. First Free Methodist Church. SPU Symphony Orchestra's Winter Concert. Open and free to the public. Wheelchair accessible.


March 7, 7:30 p.m. First Free Methodist Church, Percussion Ensemble. Open and free to the public. Wheelchair accessible.


March 15, 10 a.m. Residence halls close for Spring Break.


March 15–26 Spring Break for students.


March 26, 1 p.m. Residence halls open. (New student check-in from 1 to 4 p.m.) New international student orientation begins.


March 27 Classes begin for Spring Quarter 2024.


March 29 Good Friday holiday; no classes meet.


April 1 Priority deadline to submit FAFSA forms. (We recommend you submit your forms as early as possible, before SPU's priority deadline of April 1, so the Department of Education can transfer information to us to determine your financial aid eligibility.)


April 3 Deadline for writing competition entries for the John Perkins Center Scholarship Prizes.


April 10 Spring Quarter tuition and payments are due.


April 12, 10 a.m.–5 p.m. Grad Fest in Upper Gwinn.


April 18 The 18th Annual Social Venture Plan Competition Showcase. Upper Gwinn.


April 23 Perkins Center Writing Prizes awarded at the Perkins Lecture Series.


May 1 Summer registration begins.
