Gian Grosso
President
My name is Gian Grosso, and I am the president of Seattle Pacific University’s Mortar Board Chapter, Ivy Honorary. I am a senior majoring in History and Political Science (International Affairs Track). After graduation, I hope to work internationally in community development and societal reconstruction, particularly in the Global South. To me leadership means empowering others to see their potential and representing Christ by serving those in your community. As president of Ivy Honorary, I hope to represent Mortar Board’s ideals of scholarship, leadership, and service by helping students realize their potential and empowering them to change the world. Diversity of ideas and opinions has always been very important to me. As Session Coordinator for the SPU’s Political Union for the past two years, I have had the opportunity to engage students in political discussions, as well as broaden my own political views. This year I hope to bring speakers to campus to talk about graduate and career options, organize study sessions to help students in various classes, and partner with other student organizations to put on events that will be beneficial to the SPU community. I also hope to make Ivy Honorary’s presence on campus known, not as an elitist group, but as a servant organization. According to Saint Francis of Assisi, we are to preach the Gospel at all times and if necessary use words. It is my hope as the president of Ivy Honorary, that the students of SPU speak leadership through their devotion to academic excellence and campus service.
