Faculty
With Evening Students
The Office of University Services will be open until 6:30 p.m. Tuesday,
October 2, and Wednesday, October 3, for evening students to get their
SPU ID cards. These cards are used to access meal plans, check out materials
from the Library, and receive admission or discounts to theatre or sporting
events. Students not able to make it during that week are encouraged
to go to University Services during regular office hours, 8-5 p.m.,
Monday through Friday. University Services is located at 3220 Sixth
West, across the street from Hill Hall.
Practice
or Learn Spanish
Come join in or just listen at the Spanish Language Table every Thursday
from 1-2 p.m. in the Gazebo Room of the SUB. No proficiency level required
but note that all conversation will be in Spanish. This is great opportunity
for all to hear the language in an informal, non-classroom setting and
participate as you are able. Faculty and staff are encouraged to come
and practice, share or learn Spanish with students in Spanish. If you
have a Spanish version of the Bible, bring it!

independently overseas, please send a list of the students involved
to Anne Towler, program coordinator in Campus Ministries, at atowler@spu.edu.
Please send this list to OCM before the beginning of each quarter. This
will prevent students from having a CFE hold on their registration for
the following quarter. If you have any questions, please e-mail Anne.
A
Message From Plant Services
We have been receiving increasing complaints about broken doors and
doors that will not close on their own. After assessing several of these
complaints, it has been discovered that the doors are being blocked
open by putting objects between the hinges. While this keeps the door
from closing, it breaks the hinges on the door and causes a large repair
cost. If a door needs to be blocked open, please use an appropriate
doorstop at the base of the door. Please do not jamb open the door hinges.
Any of the doors with automatic openers should never be propped
open, as it will burn up the motor in the opening device. If you have
any questions, contact John Mansfield, manager for building mantenance,
at jem@spu.edu.
