Laurel
Tindall's Brevat Rating
The
Athletics Department is pleased to note that Laurel Tindall, head women's
gymnastics coach, attained the highest honor that can be achieved internationally
by gymnastics judges -- a Brevet rating -- at a recent course held by
the Federation International of Gymnastics (FIG) in Indianapolis. An
international course is held in many countries to recertify Brevets
by FIG, and this was the only such opportunity in the United States
this year. To attain this credential, Laurel scored better than 93 percent.
It is her sixth similar achievement in the last 24 years! The judging
expertise she brings to her head-coaching role is an important factor
in the continued success of SPU gymnastics. Judges work harder when
scoring SPU because they know she is rated higher than they are and
will catch any error they make. Congratulations to Coach Tindall for
achieving the highest level of gymnastics judging!
