uPod Leaders Wanted
About 85 students are needed to serve as uPod Leaders during Orientation/Welcome Week 2008. uPod Leaders act as hosts for small groups of new students as they transition to SPU. uPod Leaders lead discussions and organize their groups to meet during Orientation and participate in all of the activities. Applications are now available in the Student Programs Office (2nd floor SUB) and are due May 16. For more information, contact Allison Kerr, Student Orientation Director at alikerr@spu.edu.


2008 Graduation Celebrations
Graduation will be here soon! Graduate Hooding Ceremony will be held Friday, June 6, 8:45 a.m. in Martin Square followed by Ivy Cutting at 9:30 a.m. in Tiffany Loop; Baccalaureate, Friday evening at 7:30 p.m. in Royal Brougham Pavilion; Commencement Exercises will be on Saturday, June 7, 12:30 p.m., Qwest Field. Tickets are required for the 2008 Commencement Exercises at Qwest Field, but are not required for any other year-end events. You may pick up a copy of the graduation pamphlet with more information at the Unicom desk (1st floor SUB).

YouTube Debate
Wednesday, May 21, 6:00 p.m., SUB Gazebo Room. Sponsored by the International Business Awareness Club. YouTube will debate about current international events and business issues including ethical business practices. The debate will feature SPU School of Business and Economic Professors as the respondents. There will be free pizza and refreshments for all in attendance.

Night of Beats
Friday, May 16, 7:00-11:00 p.m., Royal Brougham Gym. It is the 7th annual event by the Mosaic Club. It is a hip-hop showcase that involves performers from the greater Seattle/Tacoma area.


Ashton Ball: A Night on the Pier
Friday, May 16, 8:00 p.m.-12:00 a.m., Pier 66 Bell Harbor International Conference Center. Tickets will be sold beginning April 28. There will be a light dessert and beverages with top 40 hits. This is a great time for SPU students (all are welcome) to get dressed up.


Latreia White Center Service Day
Saturday, May 17, 8:30 a.m.-3:00 p.m., White Center. Join Latreia and other community groups for the annual White Center Spring Clean. Meet us at 8:30 a.m. for pancakes; the workday begins at 9 a.m. Lunch and workgloves provided.


Interviewing Seminar with Pulitzer Prize Reporter
Tuesday, May 20, 1:00-1:30 p.m., Library Seminar Room. Seattle P-I writer Eric Nalder presents: "Loosening Lips, the Art of the Interview". Student Loan Repayment and Exit Counseling Session
Information about student loan repayment is offered to all students spring quarter. If you are graduating, we are required to provide exit counseling if you received federal student loans. Exit packages containing documents for each loan will be available at the exit sessions. All sessions are held in the Library Seminar Room on the following dates and times: Thursday, May 8, 3:30 p.m., 5:30 p.m.; Saturday, May 10, 1:00 p.m.; Monday. May 12, 10:00 a.m., 1:00 p.m., 3:00 p.m., 5:00 p.m., 7:00p.m.; Tuesday, May 13, 11:30 a.m., 1:30 p.m., 3:30 p.m., 5:30 p.m.; Wednesday, May 14, 2:00 p.m. Please plan to attend one of these sessions. Individual sessions may also be scheduled by contacting Kristen Ross at 206-281-2530 or rossk@spu.edu.


Autumn Registration for Undergrad Students
Autumn registration for admitted undergrad students currently in attendence begins on Monday, May 12.


Housing Sign-Up: 4-Person Apartments
Monday, May 12, 7:00-9:00 p.m., Upper Gwinn. Groups qualifying to reserve a 4-person apartment will choose a specific unit. Please see your Housing Sign-up booklet distributed by your PA.


Housing Sign-Up: Residence Hall Singles, Triples & Quads
Tuesday, May 13, 7:00-8:00 p.m., Upper Gwinn. Students who wish to reserve a single, triple or quad in the residence halls will choose a specific room. Please see your Housing Sign-Up Booklet distributed by your PA.


Math Proficiency Exam
Thursday, May 15, 9:30-10:30 a.m., Otto Miller Hall Lobby. Please report to the OMH lobby by 9:20 for testing room assignments, and bring a #2 pencil. Calculators are not allowed. Sample questions can be found on our website. Exam scores will be posted in Banner by May 22.
