Model Call for Gas Masks, Stilletos, and Designer Jeans Fashion Show
Tuesday, May 6 and Wednesday, May 7, 8:30 p.m., SUB Collegium. Fashion show is looking for enthusiastic, realistic male and female students with attitude to model in the student produced "Gas, Masks, Stilletos, and Designer Jeans" fashion show which will be held on May 31 in Upper Gwinn. Fan Gates Reading with Poet Marie Howe
Wednesday, May 7, 7:30 p.m., Collegium (1st floor, SUB). Poet and winner of the National Poetry Series, Marie Howe will give the Fan Mayhall Gates Literary Reading. Her poems have appeared in The New Yorker and Harvard Review, among others. Currently, Howe teaches creative writing at Sarah Lawrence College, Columbia, and New York University. Thursday Food for Thought - Professor of Old Testament, Frank Spina
Thursday, May 8, 12:30-1:15 p.m., Library Reading Room. Ever feel like an outsider? If so, on May 8 come hear Professor of Old Testament, Frank Spina examine exclusion and inclusion in the biblical story as he reads from his book, "Faith of the Outsider". "Thursday Food For Thought" is a brown-bag lunch event. A question-and-answer time will follow, and copies of his book will be available for purchase.

Volunteers Needed in Language Mentor Program
The Language Mentor Program seeks to bridge the cultural gap between Americans and peoples from around the world by providing SPU students with the opportunity to discuss culture, values and the world with an international student studying English at A.C.E. Language Institute on campus. Meetings take place once a week at a time that is convenient for both of you and our student. If you're interested, please email Colin Knight at colink@cultural.org.
