NOMINATIONS NEEDED FOR LEADERSHIP CELEBRATION!
Please take a moment to nominate an individual or group that deserves honor and recognition for their contributions and commitment to SPU and the community. Recipients will be honored at Leadership Celebration and are due by April 28. The categories are: Servant Scholar of the Year; Outstanding New Student Leader; Advisor of the Year; and Outstanding Student Program. APPLICATIONS FOR BOARD OF STUDENT MEDIA
Applications are available in the ASSP office for The Board of Student Media Chair and Student Representative. They are due Monday, April 23. The Board oversees 4 media organizations. Interested in campaigning to be an ASSP Senator? Applications are available in the ASSP office and are due Thursday, April 19. You can represent your academic school, commuter students, residence hall, or be a senator-at-large! The Student Senate works for the good of the students and the SPU community. Questions? Student Discount for Christian Writers Renewal
SPU students receive a discounted price of $50 (regular $149) for the SPU Christian Writers Renewal, May 4-5, which includes a Friday night dessert and Saturday banquet. The theme this year is "God Allows U-Turns: Find Purpose in Your Writing Career" and the speaker will be Allison Bottke. There will be 22 workshop sessions in a wide variety of subjects from powerful non-fiction to how to write for children. Novelist Bret Lott to Receive Levertov Award
Sponsored by Image and the SPU English Department, Bret Lott, author of the Oprah Book Club selection, Jewel, which sold more than 3 million copies, will receive the 4th annual Denise Levertov Award and give a reading at the NEW Seattle Art Museum on Tuesday, May 8, 7:30 p.m. The Denise Levertov Award is named for one of the 20th Century's greatest poets, Levertov, who spent her last years in Seattle, embracing the landscape and culture of the Pacific Northwest.


Ladies--Don't Miss Out on This! Quest 2007
This is your chance to serve from Seattle to San Francisco over Memorial Day weekend, May 24-28. Join fellow SPU females on the trip of a lifetime as we roadtrip to San Francisco to serve at a mission in the "Tenderloin District." Sign up in Martin Square on Friday, April 20, 7:00 a.m. We have a limited amount of space--many students have a sleepover in Martin Square the night before in order to get in line!!
