SCHOLARSHIP OPPORTUNITIES

All-Ink Scholarship
The All-Ink Scholarship is offering up to $5,000 to eligible students who are enrolled or are planning to enroll at a college or university. Students must be permanent residents of the U.S., have a minimum 2.5 GPA and write 2 essays (topics are on the website). Deadline for applications is December 31. [link]


Frank O'Neill Memorial Scholarship
EasyAid.com: Frank O'Neill Memorial Scholarship is available to students attending a college, university, or post-secondary education program during the 2006-2007 or 2007-2008 academic year. You must write an essay fewer than 750 words on any topic you wish. Essays accepted online through EasyAid.com. Please visit their website. Deadline for submissions is December 31. [link]


Less Than a Month Away!
The SFS Undergrad Scholarship is less than a month away. This is a scholarship opportunity like no other--there are over 70 scholarships available and ONE application applies you to ALL the scholarships! Applications will be available online starting November 1.


Women's Opportunity Awards
Soropitmist International of Seattle Metropolitan is awarding a $1,500 scholarship to eligible women who have primary financial responsibility for herself and her dependents. Applicants must demonstrate financial need and be entering or attending a vocational, technical training, or undergraduate program. Applications are available in SFS office, lower Demaray Hall. SPU's acclaimed Concert Choir, Symphonic Wind Ensemble, and other groups will perform sacred and traditional Christmas music during this memorable evening. Elie Wiesel Prize in Ethics Essay Contest 2007
Attention all full-time juniors and seniors: you can win up to $5,000 in the Elie Wiesel Prize in Ethics Essay Contest 2007. The annual contest was created to challenge college students to contemplate ethical issues facing them in today's society and to analyze their own perception and thoughts on ethics. Students entering the contest are required to complete an entry form along with their faculty sponsor. The deadline is December 8, 2006. Winners will be announced in April of 2007. SPU/University of Salamanca, Spain, Summer 2007
Applications are now available for the June 27 to July 30 SPU/University of Salamanca, Spain program. This program is filled on a first apply/accepted policy. Only 20-25 students will be accepted. Travel and Study in South Africa! Summer 2007
Imagine morning classes studying South African literature, an afternoon field trip to a former apartheid prison on Robbin Island, safari, and evenings of theatre performances. To explore the stories of South Africa, we will read a number of novels and also hear the stories of local families when we build houses in a township. This 10 credit English program (ENG3382/ENG4953) provides understanding of the history of apartheid and the ongoing process of reconciliation.
