SCHOLARSHIP OPPORTUNITIES

WACPA Accounting Scholarship
The Washington CPA Foundation is now accepting applications for their 2006-2007 Accounting Scholarship. Students who will have completed their sophomore year by Fall 2006 and are planning to major in accounting are eligible to apply. Preference will be given to residents of Washington State. Students will be selected according to the following criteria: academic achievement (min. 3.0 GPA), campus/community activities, work history, essay questions, and financial need for need based scholarships only). 10 need based scholarships and 10 merit scholarships are available. Stop by the SFS office in lower Demaray to pick up an application. Deadline for applications is May 1st. If you have questions, please contact Whitney Kruse at krusew@spu.edu.


StraightForwardMedia.com Scholarships
StraightforwardMedia.com is offering three scholarships for students majoring in business, a medical related field, and communications. Each discipline is a separate scholarship. Applications must be sent in by June 30th. Eastern Washington Section of the Society of Women Engineers Scholarship
The Eastern Washington Section of the Society of Women Engineers administers a $1,000 scholarship to a female student in the rising-sophomore or above classification in the undergraduate or graduate school. To apply they must be a female student who has completed at least one year studies, satisfactory completion of a minimum of 1 year (full time equivalent) engineering credits and a woman residing in the Northwest (inclusive of WA, OR, ID, MT, or AK.) Applications can be found in the SFS office and must be postmarked by May 30th. If you have questions please contact Whitney Kruse at krusew@spu.edu.

Networking with Integrity and Ease - Workshop
"Don't wait for your ship to come in. Swim out to it." Networking is something we do, all our lives. On Wednesday, April 26th from 12:30 - 1:30 in Demaray 358, learn how to develop connections with important people within your career field with integrity and ease from SPU Alum, Chris Frickel owner of, Be The Ball Enterprises. This event is sponsored by the Career Development Center.

In order to provide more timely and efficient maintenance service to the residential campus community, we have developed a survey. Seminary Fair

USPS Passport Fair
Summer is almost here and that means vacation & trips abroad! Are you still in need of your passport or need to renew that old one and haven't had time to get everything together then this event is for you! The United States Post Office will be here Tuesday April 25th and Wednesday April 26th from 9am-3pm in the SUB to process your passport forms and take your pictures. To ease the process The Career Development Center will have application and renewal forms to fill out prior to your visit. To be ultimately prepared bring your check book, proof of citizenship (birth certificate) and proof of identity (driver's license or government ID). Registration for Autumn Quarter is coming soon! All continuing students have been assigned an appointment time, you can view it accessing "Check your Registration Information" in the Student Menu of the Banner Information System. Autumn registration for currently admitted undergraduate students begins Monday, May 15th. Autumn registration for graduate students begins Monday, May 22nd. Questions?
