Quote of the Week:   "Your life is not going to be easy, and it should not be easy. It ought to be hard. It ought to be radical; it ought to be restless; it ought to lead you to places you'd rather not go." --Henri Nouwen

COMMUNITY NEWS

Fix Your Own Computer With "Check Disk"
Ever sit down, ready to work on your computer, only to find that it suddenly won't turn on or work? If so, you're not alone. A recent problem on campus has been data corruption, caused by everything from hard-drives failing to viruses and spyware corrupting the data. If this happens to you try running "Check Disk." First, put in your Windows XP CD and restart your computer. Once the Windows installer loads press "r" to enter the Recovery console. In the Recovery console type: chkdsk /f /r. Let this run and then restart your computer (NOTE: this could take a while). Hopefully your computer works again. If not, request a visit from CIS by going to http://www.spu.edu/help-at-home or by calling (206)-281-2982.
