Tuition's Expensive, Young Alumni Can Help You
We know that school's expensive, we were once students too! Now that we have jobs, several of us got together and want to hand out money to current students to help out. Two scholarships will be awarded and students should apply during their junior year. BECU Annual Scholarship Program
The BECU Foundation is currently accepting applications for their 2005 educational scholarships. Applicants must be members of BECU and have a GPA of 3.0 or higher. High School graduates and undergraduates are eligible to apply. Visit the SFS office for applications or visit www.becu.org to download an application or. Applications must be postmarked no later than March 31. If you have questions please contact Whitney Kruse at krusew@spu.edu.


Business Scholarship for Graduate Students
This scholarship is awarded by the Government Finance Officers Association (GFOA) and is for students who have been admitted on a full-or part-time basis to a graduate program in public administration, finance, business administration, or social sciences. One scholarship of $4,000 is available for 2005. Applicants should have a superior record of academic achievement and/or job performance and show a premise of completion of their graduate program at a high level of performance. All applications are to be postmarked no later than March 18, 2005. Application materials can be found in the SFS office. If you have questions please contact Whitney Kruse at Krusew@spu.edu.


JUST ANOTHER REMINDER!
The Young Alumni Council of Seattle Pacific University has established a scholarship for SPU seniors who have demonstrated academic achievement and a commitment to volunteer service off-campus. Two scholarships of $500.00 each will be awarded annually to seniors who excel in the classroom and in the community. Students should apply during their junior year to receive the award during their senior year. Check out the site below for more information and to download the application. The deadline for all application material is Tuesday, March 29, 2005. References must be received by Monday, April 4. CIS Help: Watch out for IM Viruses!
Two new viruses are circulating via AOL Instant Messenger (AIM) and MSN Messenger. The AIM virus is called WORM_SDBOT.BCE and appears via a "friend's" away message, which indicates "click here to view beach pictures." The MSN virus is called Bropia.worm and appears via links to "screensavers," etc. Please do not click any of these links. If you do, your system will be infected and you will experience serious web browser problems and an increased number of pop-ups. To repair the AIM virus issue please follow this link: http://www.jayloden.com/aimfix.htm or contact http://www.spu.edu/help-at-home for a personal visit from a CIS technician. The annual SPU Internship & Job Fair is a not-to-be missed opportunity on Tuesday, March 1 from 11:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. in Upper Gwinn. Annual Palmer Lecture
The 2005 Alfred S. Palmer Lecture will feature Dr. Bruce C Birch speaking on "A Theology of Hope for Times of Exile." Dr. Birch earned his Ph.D. from Yale University and is now the dean and professor of bibilical history at Wesley Theological Seminary. A prolific author, his books include "Let Justice Roll Down: The Old Testament, Ethics, and Christian Life." Dr. Birch will examine Israel's prophets at the time of uncertainty, division, and conflict during the Bablylonian exile. What can today's church learn from these prophets that can help bring healing and hope in a broken world. This is a CFE community credit event which will be held in Upper Gwinn on March 1 at 7:30 p.m. For more information please contact Dr. Susan Gallagher at gallghe@spu.edu.

Youth Mission and Ministry Coordinator Job Opening
Looking for a job in mission and ministry work while building relationships with youth? Stop by the second floor of the SUB and pick up an application to be a Youth Mission and Ministry Coordinator at the Church at the Center. This is a part time job with the purpose to represent the Youth Ministries program on staff and support the volunteer leads in organizing Sunday and mid-week programs and events, and to develop student and volunteer ownership in the program. Work at SPU's Camp Casey over Spring Break
Earn money and enjoy some quiet time over Spring Break. Camp Casey has 3 openings for students to work over Spring Break. Work will be outdoors: lawnmowing, landscaping, clean up, digging, etc. Housing and food are provided. Students will bring their own bedding and do their own cooking. If interested, please contact mrichard@spu.edu with your interest and we will schedule a phone interview.


Media Editor-in-Chief/Station Manager Applications Avaliable
Applications are avaliable for the 2005-2006 School Year for the following positions: KSPU Station Manager, Cascade Editor-in-Chief, Falcon Editor-in-Chief and Lingua Editor-in-Chief. Applications are avaliable in the ASSP Office and will be due no later than 5:00 p.m. on Monday March 14. Please stop by the ASSP Office to pick up an application.
