COMMUNITY NEWS

CIS Help: Firewalls Save Data!
If you're running a firewall, please don't assume your computer is automatically safe from different Internet attacks and viruses. Programs often open up holes in firewalls; even sharing files out on the network opens up your computer to possible attack. The safest way to be on a network is to have your firewall not allow exceptions. In Windows XP, enable this by going to Start -> Control Panel -> Windows Firewall and check the box that says Don't Allow Exceptions. For other non-Windows firewalls, please consult your Help menu. If you suspect a problem with your firewall or need computer support, consider a FREE visit from CIS to your campus apartment or room by going to http://www.spu.edu/help-at-home today. For more information please contact the CIS Help Desk at help@spu.edu or (206)-281-2982.

Spring Quarterly Payment Plan Deadline Is Here!
The deadline to sign up for this new service is February 14. By signing up you will be able to pay your balance in thirds, not receive a hold or late fees, have SFS calculate your payments for you, receive monthly statements and use online payment services! Complete your application and submit it with the $30 application fee today! To receive the application and more details go to http://www.spu.edu/depts/sfs/pdf/QPP.pdf . For additional information please call (206)281-2061 or email sfs-info@spu.edu.
