SFS Undergrad Scholarship Now Available
Just a reminder, the SFS Undergrad Scholarship is now available online! There are over 70 scholarships that you may be eligible for! Visit the SFS website at www.spu.edu/depts/sfs/scholar.asp today for the application! Deadline to turn in all materials in December 3rd!! Don't miss this great opportunity! It's knocking at your door!


Nursing Majors: Here's One For You!
The Washington State Nurses Foundation will award a minimum or 4 annual $1,000 scholarships to qualified students preparing for a career as a registered nurse in Washington State. Eligibility for this scholarship includes current enrollment in a nursing program and must have completed at least 12-15 nursing credits, resident of Washington State or enrolled in a RN nursing program in Washington State, and have a minimum 3.0 GPA. Applications can be found in the SFS office. Deadline for applications are February 15, 2005. If you have questions please contact Whitney Kruse at krusew@spu.edu.


Talbots Scholarship for Women
Talbots Charitable Foundation is pleased to announce scholarship opportunities through the 2005 Talbots Women's Scholarship Fund. Eligibility for the scholarship includes: a women currently residing in the US, women who have earned a high school diploma or their GED on or before September 1995, enrolled or planning to enroll in undergraduates courses, or have at least 2 semesters or more remaining to complete their undergraduate degree as of the beginning of the 2005 fall academic term. Applications can be found in the SFS office and are due no later than January 3, 2005. Please contact Whitney Kruse with questions; krusew@spu.edu.


Association for Women in Communication Scholarship
The Seattle Chapter of the Association for Women in Communication (AWC) is pleased to announce the call for entries for its 2005-06 academic year scholarships. There are two scholarships for approximately $1,500 each. Eligibility includes being a Washington State resident, registered as a junior, senior, or graduate as of Fall 2005 at a Washington state four-year college, and be accepted in, or applying to major in at least one of the following disciplines: print & broadcast journalism, TV & radio production, film, advertising, public relations, marketing, graphic design, multimedia design, photography, and/or technical communication. Applications are found in the SFS office and are due February 14, 2005. If you have questions please contact Whitney Kruse at krusew@spu.edu.


ICW Scholarship
Don't forget, the Deadline for the ICW Approach To Management Services Scholarship has been extended to December 3rd! But the date is fast approaching! This scholarship is for the first in his/her immediate family to attend a four year college. This is a $2,500 and is for the current 2004-2005 academic year. Free T-shirts to First 100 Fans at Home Basketball Openers
SPU is hosting the Falcon Tip-Off Classic and the Falcon Hoop Classic this Friday and Saturday. The women play both Friday and Saturday at 5pm. The men play Saturday at 7pm. The first 100 fans in the door for the women's Friday game (5pm) and men's Saturday game (7pm) will receive a free Falcon basketball t- shirt. For a complete schedule of tournament games, go to the Falcon athletics website.


Why Are You Taking UCOR?
Come to a forum on Tuesday, November 17th to find out more information on why UCOR is important to the common curriculum at Seattle Pacific. Listen to faculty members and students talk about UCOR and ask them questions. Refreshments will be provided. The forum starts at 7:30 PM in OMH 119.

Do you or someone you know struggle with or have questions about sexual addiction? The Student Counseling Center presents SEX, MEN, & GOD - A free seminar with SPU Alumnus Jayson Graves, MS. You will learn about: The difference between common sexual concerns and sexual addictions, The 6 types of sex addicts, Sexual addiction and the brain, The recovery process. Holiday Card Making Party
Holidays can be lonely times for the seniors in retirement and nursing homes. Help us bring some joy to the residents at Ballard Manor this season! Join us in Weter on Saturday, November 20th to make Thanksgiving and Christmas cards for them. We'll provide the food and fun! There will be Christmas music to get you in the holiday spirit and festive treats to fuel your creativity. If you are looking for a way to reach out to the community, this is a great opportunity! The fun will begin at 1:00 pm on Saturday, November 20 in Weter Lounge. Hope to see you there!

Learning Strategies Workshop: "Where do I Start When It's Time For An Exam?"
In this session, we will explore what current research suggests about the most effective ways to study and train your mind. You will learn how to develop active strategies for reviewing, build skills in test-taking, and reduce your level of test anxiety. The workshop will be held in Emerson Hall Lounge on November 18 from 7:00-8:00 p.m. For more information, contact Heath Spencer or Mary Jayne Allen in the Center for Learning at (206) 281-2475 or centerforlearning3@spu.edu.


Winter Quarter Registration
Winter Registration for currently admitted undergraduate students begins today, November 15th! All continuing students have been assigned an appointment time, available by viewing "Check your Registration Information" in the Student Menu of the Banner Information System.
