Liberty Mutual Scholarship
This scholarship is for students in their junior year who are majoring in/are interested in working in a business environment. Fields of study that are accepted include: accounting, economics, finance, management, MIS etc. Scholarships are for students that attend a private college. Applications can be found at: www.fihe.org or in the Demaray 10. The application deadline is November 1, 2004. Please contact Whitney Kruse at: krusew@spu.edu.


Target All-Around Scholarship
Come pick up an application for the Target All-Around Scholarship in the Student Financial Services office (Demaray 10). Students applying should be actively involved in serving their community. The application deadline for this scholarship is November 1, 2004. If you have questions please contact Whitney Kruse at: krusew@spu.edu.


Grace Byrne Memorial Undergraduate Scholarship
The Women's Transportation Seminar is awarding a scholarship to a female student pursuing a degree in the field of transportation. The scholarship is for $1,500. This scholarship is open for women pursuing a major in: transportation engineering, transportation planning, transportation finance, or transportation logistics. Applicants must be a female with a GPA of 3.0 or higher, be enrolled in one of the undergraduate degree programs mentioned, must be a Washington state resident, or attend a Washington state university and plan to pursue a career in a transportation-related field. Applications can be found in Student Financial Services (Demaray 10). Application deadline is October 22, 2004. Please contact Whitney Kruse at: krusew@spu.edu.

Through the Help@Home program CIS staff members can come to your campus room or apartment to try to facilitate a solution to your computer problems. Msgr. Lorenzo Albacete, Communion & Liberation
Msgr. Lorenzo Albacete will be speaking on the topic of, "Introducing Communion and Liberation: A Lay Movement within the Catholic Church" in the Library Seminar Room on Wednesday, October 6th at 7:30pm. Msgr. Lorenzo Albacete is the National Director of the ecclesial movement Communion & Liberation. He is a columnist for the New York Times and the Italian weekly Tempi, and has written for The New Yorker and many other publications, he is also the author of ďGod at the Ritz: Attraction to Infinity". This event is free and open to the public.


Falcon Soccer Friday Night

Thinking About Seminary?
Representatives from Fuller Theological Seminary and Claremont School of Theology will be on campus this week to provide information and talk with students. Stop by their table in Gwinn Commons (Thursday, October 7th and Friday, October 8th) and for Claremont (11:00am-1:30pm, Thursday, Oct. 7th). There will also be an information session for Fuller on Thursday, Oct. 7th, 7:00pm-8:00pm, Weter Hall 201.


Passed Registration Deadlines
WAITLISTING HAS ENDED!! Unless you received confirmation from the office of Student Academic Services by the end of last week that you got into a course you waitlisted, please stop attending the waitlisted course. REGISTRATION VIA THE WEB IS NO LONGER AVAILABLE (as of 5:00pm on Friday October 1st). Student's wishing to take a course Pass/No credit or to register for an internship, independent study, theatre practicum, or individual instruction in music may do so in the office of Student Academic Services (Demaray 151) by 4:30pm, Friday October 8th.


Tuition Refund Reminder
Remember that if you drop a class during the 2nd week of the quarter, you will pay 25% of the tuition. If you drop during the 3rd week of the quarter, you will pay 50% of the tuition. If you drop during the 4th or 5th weeks of the quarter, you will pay 75% of the tuition. You must drop a class in person in Student Academic Services. If you are a financial aid recipient, be aware that dropping a class can affect your financial aid. Contact the office Student Financial Services at (206)281-2061 or go to their office in Demaray 10 for more information.
