Image/SPU Film Festival
The third annual Image/SPU Film Festival, sponsored by Image: A Journal of the Arts and Religion, SPU Student Services, and funded in part by ASSP, will be held on campus April 30-May 2. This year's theme is "Borderlands: Movies That Explore the Space Between Us." The five films that will be screened are: “Malcolm X" (April 30, 7:00 p.m.); “East is East" (May 1, 2:00 p.m.); “Blade Runner" (May 1, 7:00 p.m.); “Europa, Europa" (May 2, 2:00 p.m.); “Lone Star" (May 2, 7:00 p.m.). All screenings will be followed by panel discussions. Panelists will include SPU faculty, students, and staff. Refreshments will be provided. CFE credit is available to students who attend two or more screenings and panel discussions. The festival will be held in Upper Gwinn Commons. CODYWHO Concert
CODYWHO's EP titled "KNOCK KNOCK" will be released in Concert on May 8, in Upper Gwinn Commons. Come experience this exclusive, behind the scenes concert with Seattle's happiest band. “Left Behind" Author On Campus
Jerry Jenkins, best-selling author of the “Left Behind" fiction series as well as books on Billy Graham and Nolan Ryan, will speak three times to the SPU Christian Writers Renewal, May 28-29. Registration for the complete conference (including 22 writers' workshop options) is just $45 for students. If you'd like to come Friday night only to hear Jerry and ask him questions, tickets are only $12 (includes dessert). Tutoring
Struggling in your class? Need to talk about testing and note-taking? Check out the Tutoring Program in the Center for Learning in Lower Moyer! Tutors are available in Biology, Chemistry, Mathematics, Psychology, Sociology, English, Foreign Languages, UFDN and UCORE classes and more! The tutors are available by scheduled appointments so get down to Lower Moyer and see what is available to you! New tutors for every subject are always needed. If you are interested in becoming a tutor come to the Center for Learning to apply! Let us know what you are interested in tutoring and receive proper training for the position. Stamping Workshop
You're Invited to "Springtime Celebrations": A stamping workshop for SPU students, staff and faculty! Come join stamping instructor and SPU grad Rebekah Young for an evening of creative card-making fun! We'll work on card designs for Mother's Day, graduates, Father's Day, and springtime birthdays! For those interested in expanding their stamp collection, A Muse Artstamps' entire line of rubberstamps will be available for purchase at 10% off retail prices! Bring your creativity and a friend or two! No stamping experience is necessary, just a desire to learn and have fun! Join us for the entire three hours, or drop in as your schedule allows. “Springtime Celebrations will be held tuesday May 4 from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. in the Library Seminar Room. Orientation Job Opportunity
Get paid to help out with Orientation! The Office of Student Programs is hiring up to six people to be on the New Student Orientation Core Team. These students will assist the NSO Intern in the implementation of Orientation. To be eligible, you should not hold positions that require attendance to the annual ASSP Leadership Conference. The term of employment is 9/13/04-9/27/04. The position pays $400 for the two weeks, as well as room (on-campus resident) AND board for the duration of employment.
