SCHOLARSHIP OPPORTUNITIES

A Career in Public relations
The Public Relations Society of America is awarding two scholarships to outstanding students who are pursuing a career in public relations. The Sally Heet Memorial Scholarship and Horace and Susie Revels Clayton Scholarships are two $2,500 scholarships awarded to full-time students with a junior or senior standing for the 2004-2005 school year. You must demonstrate aptitude in public relations, activities, and/or internships, and display academic achievement. The application Deadline is March 28, and apps are available in Student Financial Services. If you have questions, please contact Glenda at Glenda@spu.edu.


Public and/or Business Administration Scholarship
Are you majoring in Public Administration, Business Administration, Finance, or a related field? The Government Finance Officers Association is pleased to announce a scholarship of $5,000 to be awarded for the 2004-2005 academic year. Eligibility for this scholarship includes being employed by a state or local government/public entity, being enrolled in the finance, business or public administration major, and being recommended by your employer. Application Deadline is March 24. If you have any questions, please contact Glenda at Glenda@spu.edu.


Women Accountant Scholarship
If you are a woman pursuing a major in accounting, then here is a scholarship that you should apply for! The Seattle Chapter of the American Society of Women Accountants, are making scholarships available for woman attending college, full-time or part-time and has completed 45 quarter hours with an overall GPA of 2.05 and 3.0 in accounting. Application Deadline is April 30. Come pick up an application today in the Student Financial Service office today! If you have questions, please contact Glenda at Glenda@spu.edu.

Papers from Fall Quarter
If you think you may have papers or tests from fall quarter from Sociology, Political Science, History or Theology course, please pick them up from Alexander Hall room 102 before Friday, February 13. After that date any remaining items will be destroyed.

Advance Registration
Advance Registration for Spring Quarter is coming soon! All continuing students have been assigned an appointment time, available by viewing "Check your Registration Information" in the Student Menu of the Banner Information System. Spring registration for currently admitted undergraduate students begins Monday February 23. Spring registration for graduate students begins Monday March 1. Questions? Pre-med Application Required Meeting
Calling all SPU Pre-Medical Students: A very important meeting will take place Thursday Feb. 12 1:00 - 1:50 p.m. in Beegle Hall 201. Topics covered include MCAT registration & Preparation SPU Mock Interview process SPU and PPHS Committee Recommendation Process Medical School Application process and deadlines & fees. This meeting is REQUIRED ATTENDANCE for all students planning to apply to medical school for the next application cycle (i.e. applications submitted summer and fall 2004 for medical school entrance in Fall 2005.) Sophomore, Junior, Senior and Post-bac students are very strongly encouraged to attend. Freshman are welcome but attendance is not required.
