Open Senate Positions

Intercultural Retreat
Intercultural Retreat is October 12th-13th (Emerson students attending will stay for their retreat). The theme this year is: “Making Reconciliation Relevant" and will include workshops, discussions, and a time to get to know one another as the year kicks off! Please sign up in the ASSP office by Wednesday October 10th. The cost is $10.00 registration, $5.00 to pitch in for gas. Everyone is welcome! [link]


Seattle Art Museum
Due to a membership mistake made by the Seattle Art Museum, ASSP is not checking out S.A.M passes at this time. S.A.M passes should be available again next week and ASSP will be offering both free and discounted passes on a first-come, first-serve basis. [link]


ASSP Website being Updated
The ASSP website is currently in the process of being updated so information taken from the website may not be current and students are encouraged to e-mail assp-info@spu.edu or to call the office directly at 281-2126 for any questions or concerns. [link]


Gamelan Recital
On October 12th there will be a Gamelan recital directed by Michelle Doiron. It will take place in EE Bach Theatre and admission is free.

24-hour Bus Passes
ASSP is now offering not only free 5-hour bus passes, but 24 hour passes that can be purchased for only $2.00! Bus passes can be picked up in the ASSP office or the Uni-com desk if the office is closed.


Monthly Bus Passes
Did you know that you can purchase monthly bus passes at 30% off? Go to the office of Safety and Security to purchase a monthly bus pass for only $35.00 compared to the normal $54.00.


Swim Passes
Students can purchase 5 swims for $5.00 at Ballard Pool in the ASSP office. That's only $1.00 a swim!


Martial Sports

Martial Sports is located right on Nickerson across from Emerson Hall and students can purchase 5 classes for only $20.00. Currently classes include Cardio Kick-Boxing, Tae Kwon Do, and Mixed Martial Arts. A schedule of classes is available in the ASSP office.

ACTIVITIES

Date Auction!
Come and bid on packages you can share with your friends or your floor at the 15th annual Date Auction. Date Auction is a campus event that includes a silent and live auction with all proceeds going towards New Horizons and Sprint. Free dessert and refreshments will be provided. Dance party will follow the auction.


Support Falcon Athletes!

Respect Your Body Week
A week of expression, action, and education regarding eating and body image issues. Respect Your Body Week is a time for the students, staff, and faculty of Seattle Pacific University to challenge the precipitating factors that lead to eating disorders and body image concerns. It is a time to learn, to express, and to be challenged on one's belief about beauty, the body, food, image, and other related issues. Theme: Fearlessly You. When: October 29-November 2, 2007.
