Senate Briefs


The Student Senate has allocated nearly $4000 so far this quarter for events like Respect your Body Week to Acting on Aids. For a complete list of proposals and Senate minutes, please visit the Senate portion of the ASSP Website. The School of Psychology, Family and Community has a new Senator: Matt Chalfant! Matt was recently confirmed by the Senate and has now begun his job of representing the School of Psychology students to the rest of the SPU Community.

Discounted Swim Passes: $5 for 5 swims at the Queen Anne Pool. Available at the ASSP Office in the SUB, click here

Seattle Art Museum Passes: ASSP has both free and half price S.A.M. passes they can give to students on a first come, first serve basis.

TWO $500 SCHOLARSHIPS AVAILABLE
The Young Alumni Council of Seattle Pacific University has established a scholarship for SPU seniors who have demonstrated academic achievement and a commitment to volunteer service off-campus. Two scholarships of $500.00 each will be awarded to seniors who excel in the classroom and in the community. We, SPRINT Core, are pleased to announce our selections for summer trips. URBAN PLUNGE
Urban Plunge is a 5 day intensive street experience designed to give participants a taste of what it is like to be homeless and what resources are and are not available to Seattle's homeless. The nights are spent sleeping in a downtown church and the days are filled with explorations as participants walk the streets, listen to speakers and experience in a small ways some of the challenges the homeless face. Urban Plunge takes place during Spring Break. Applications are due February 23.
