COMMUTER NEWS

COMMUTER COLLEGIUM IS COMING!
SPU has just created an exciting program to benefit commuters while they are on campus, something we're calling a Collegium. A Collegium is a gathering place... a home away from home for commuter students where they can relax, study, eat, spend some quiet time alone, or catch up with classmates. A Collegium is also a place where commuters can come for an informal talk given by a favorite faculty member, see a special film, or share a dinner with other students facing many of the same issues. Membership in The Pacific Collegium at SPU is free, however, the facility and program can only accommodate a limited number of participants. We are currently limiting membership to 300 commuter students. To apply, submit an application at our soon-to-be advertised open house. If you are a commuter student, make sure to take advantage of our new Collegium's comfort, connection and community, right here on our campus.

COMMUTERS!!!
Do you want to: 1. Connect with other commuter students? 2. Get into God's Word. 3. Explore your purpose in life? 4. Relax with friends during your on-campus days? Join a SHARPEN group… October 27, 2004 @ 4 p.m. in Weter Lounge. For more information email Sharpen@spu.edu

COMMUNITY NEWS

YOU MAY BE HOLDING AN INVALID TICKET!
Some people may be holding both halves of the same ticket (you would know this because it would say “Ticket" and “Keep this Coupon" and both halves would have the same pre-printed number on them). If this is the case, please bring both halves of your ticket to 2nd floor SUB, Dean of Student Life. Those students who attended the Pride and Prejudice workshop at 1p.m. in Bertona 3, please bring your ticket to 2nd floor SUB, Dean of Student Life to swap your ticket for a valid ticket. Sorry for the confusion. The winning ticket will be drawn and awarded ($300 towards book purchases in SPU Bookstore) at the Senate meeting Nov. 1st. You need not be present to win. Contact me with questions: Carrie McCrimmon, x2481, mccric@spu.edu

LIVING LEARNING GRANT
The Associated Students of Seattle Pacific (ASSP), in collaboration with the Office of Academic Affairs, will support one or more of our fellow Seattle Pacific undergraduate students in a project applying their academic area(s) of study to a service program benefiting the larger community in some way through a grant of up to $3000. This grant furthers the Seattle Pacific vision of “engaging the culture, changing the world" by enabling students to actively integrate their academic study with service to the academic community, city and world. Please pick up an application in the ASSP office if you are interested. Applications will be available on Tuesday, October 26.

NCMSLC

This is your chance to join hundreds of leaders from across the world to talk about what it means to truly appreciate and celebrate God's diverse kingdom. The cost is only $50 for SPU students!!!!
