COMMUTER NEWS

SENATOR OFFICE HOURS
Commuter Senator, Jade Ingmire, is available every Monday from 2-3pm. Please feel to stop in and chat with her if you have any issues regarding commuter-specific issues, Senate or just to talk to her...she's really nice.

COMMUTER SMALL GROUPS
Your Commuter Senators and the Office of Campus Ministries have been working hard on establishing small groups for commuter students. If you feel cut off from the community and are going through a "commuter culture shock", small groups may be right for you. There is a need for group leaders, hosts, and facilitators. These groups will meet off campus in local neighborhood close to you. If you are interested in getting involved, contact your commuter senators; Jade Ingmire, Jason Fisk, or Matthew Koenig in the Office of Campus Ministries.

ALCOHOL RESOLUTION
The ASSP Senate will be voting on a resolution to be considered by President Eaton regarding the Alcohol Policy. This resolution will be voted on at Senate on Monday March 1st at 8:30pm in the Library Seminar Room. All are welcome to attend and make their opinions heard.

COMMUNITY NEWS

SUB COMPUTERS
Senate recently allocated funds to install four computers in the SUB. They will all be connected to the internet for quick and easy access to email and other websites. The computers are also a great resource for commuter students who do not have time to run home or to a computer lab.

ASSP OFFICER APPLICATIONS
Officer Applications are available now in the ASSP office. Positions include President, Vice President of Campus Activities, Vice President of Ministries, Vice President of Finance, and Executive Vice President. Elections will take place on April 8th and 15th. For more information, contact James Pedrick at assp-execvp@spu.edu

AN AFRICAN CELEBRATION
MOSAIC and ASSP present an enjoyable evening of African food and culture on Friday, February 27, at 6 p.m. in Weter Lounge. West African drum ensembles, dancers and performers will display their array of talents. The event is open to everyone.

MINISTRIES

COORDINATOR APPLICATIONS
Do you like to work hard? Do you want to serve? Do you want to lead? Then come and work for ASSP Student Ministries. Presently we are in the hiring process for the coordinators of next year's ministries. They include Sprint, Group, UI, Latreia, CSMC, Chapel and ELI (the new discipleship/mentoring ministry). We need people who are committed to the life-changing power of the gospel of Jesus Christ. We need people with passion and energy to lead the charge of different ministries as they serve fellow SPU students and the surrounding community. If you are interested, please pick up an application in the OCM office located on 2nd SUB. Due dates vary depending upon the ministry, so hurry. If you have any questions, please email Josh Shoemaker, assp-vpcm@spu.edu.
