Senate Briefs


The Student Senate welcomed two new members: John Leverkuhn as Emerson Senator and B.J. Louws as Senator At Large. The Senate also allocated funds for a new collegium program for commuter students, for the upcoming Stress Less Fest, and for a student to attend the Conservative Political Action Committee Conference.

Seattle Art Museum Passes: ASSP has both free and half price S.A.M. passes they can give to students on a first come, first serve basis.

Feeling spiritually disconnected since you moved off-campus? Does CFE seem like a distant memory? Good news, small groups may be coming to an area near you! Campus ministries is looking to start commuter-focused cadres here on campus, and are also looking for students to host praise & worship nights in their homes for students in their area. Your commuter senators are looking for hosts, musicians, speakers and most of all your feedback on what kind of format and topics you would like to discuss. SECOND ESSENCE UNVEILING
Celebrate with Second Essence, the campus literary journal, as they unveil this year's compilation of SPU's finest art, music and writing. Unveiling takes place a quarter early this year, so don't forget to attend this event on February 10th at 7pm in the First Free Methodist Church Fine Arts Center. STUDENT MEDIA APPLICATIONS AVAILABLE
Applications are now available in the ASSP office for next year's Falcon Editor-in-Chief, Cascade Editor-in-Chief, Second Essence Editor-in-Chief, and KSPU Station Manager positions. CELEBRATION WEEK
Why shouldn't we party and celebrate the single event that has transformed humanity? This year we have a vision for a great celebration of the resurrection by our entire SPU community. We will be meeting in the Sub 207 from 8:30-9:30 every Thursday morning starting February 5th. All are welcome to attend.
