EDUCATIONAL RIGHTS AND PRIVACY ACT OF 1974 (FERPA)
Seattle Pacific University is committed to protecting
the right of privacy of all individuals about whom it holds information.
Adjunct faculty represents the University and has responsibilities
regarding access to personal information. Certain information
is considered "private" and cannot be disclosed without the written
permission of the student. This information includes grades and
student schedules. Access to educational records is restricted
to:
The student
concerned
Parents of a dependent student (defined by the IRS)
Other individuals with the student's written consent
University officials who have legitimate educational interest
in the records
Officials of another school where the student seeks to enroll
Certain authorized government representatives
Organizations conducting studies on behalf of the University
Accrediting organizations, to carry out accrediting functions
A court of competent legal jurisdiction

University considers the following items to be directory information
and can be disclosed without the written permission of students
(except students who have requested confidential status).
