FAX

There is a fax machine located in your department's office. If needed, you may use the fax for personal items. All long distance faxes must be recorded on the log located by the fax machine. Please indicate whether the fax is business or personal use.

FERPA
Certain student information is private and cannot be disclosed without the written permission of the student. This information includes: grades, student schedules and course information. For more information regarding FERPA policy, click here.

Grade information (student papers, grade rosters and grade books) should be kept in a secure location. Stacks of student papers should NOT be left outside faculty offices unattended for students to pick up.

Grades should NOT be posted outside faculty offices. Even if the names are blocked out and social security numbers are left to identify students, this is a violation of students' privacy. Social security numbers are considered private information.

Student schedules are private information. The location of a student should NOT be disclosed. In emergency situations, the Office of Safety and Security or the Office of Registration and Records can notify the student while in class.

FOOD SERVICE
Campus Dining Services provides a full range of food and services. Based on your needs, you can enjoy a meal at Crossroads in Gwinn Commons; pizza, burgers, ice cream or soda from Falcon's Landing (1st floor of the SUB); a sandwich and your favorite snack from Corner Place Market (north side, ground floor of Gwinn), or a latte and pastry from Academic Perks. Service hours are posted at each location.

GRADES
Please be aware that student grades cannot be posted publicly for identification through social security numbers. This is illegal. You may, however, use a pre-selected code word or number. Likewise, neither papers nor tests may be left out publicly. You may wish to collect a self-addressed/stamped envelope from each student for returning final tests/papers, or you may leave papers with the AA in your department's office. The student has up to 3 weeks into the next quarter to pick these up. Any papers left at the end of the 3rd week will be tossed out.

You will receive an "Official Grade Roster" notice via email before finals begin. Please record your final grades via the web. You can also turn in your grades to the CAS Administrative Assistant and he/she will deliver to SAS.

Grades are due to SAS usually within a week of the last day of finals by 4:30 pm. It is the faculty member's responsibility to contact students if grades are turned in past the deadline. Meeting deadlines is essential for providing students with timely grade reports and official transcripts.

Incompletes
Before granting an incomplete, check with the department chair.
