    Below is a sample to show you what to expect at New Student Advising. You will receive your personal schedule when you check in.

    (continental breakfast at 7:45 a.m.)

    Receive your personal information packet and individualized schedule for the day.
    8:15–8:45 a.m.

    Welcome

    Academics at SPU: Preparing for Advising

    9–10:30 a.m.

    Advising session or SPU life session

    10:30 a.m.–noon Advising session or SPU life session
    noon–12:45 p.m.

    Lunch

    Students eat lunch, provided by SPU, with their emissary group.

    Family members pay $8.60 each. Cash only please!

    12:45–1:30 p.m.

    Academic Mentoring

    1:30–2:15 p.m. Session I*
    2:15–3:00 p.m. Session II*
    3:00–3:45 p.m. Session III*

    *Sessions rotate between:
    • Student Financial Services
    • Taking Care of Business
    • Academic advising, and registering for classes



    Office/Location Activity

    University Services: Get your picture taken for your Sea Pac Pass (student I.D.) Finalize meal plans. Ask any questions about room assignments.

    Safety and Security: Hear about safety measures and services provided.

    Health Services (Watson Hall): Turn in your medical history forms, if you haven't done so already.

    Bookstore: Familiarize yourself with the SPU Bookstore, where you can buy your textbooks in September.
