Yes. All new students must attend this event to register for classes and complete other details before Autumn Quarter 2009 begins.

Where do I park on campus, and where do I check in?

Refer to the parking information and a campus map. Check-in will take place at 8 a.m. at Gwinn Commons Third Floor. A continental breakfast will be available at 7:45 a.m.

Where do I park for off-campus events, and where do I check in?

Refer to the links on the dates, locations, and deadlines page. You can download a map to your location; when you arrive, signs will direct you where to check in.

Check in for the morning session will take place at 8:30 a.m. A light snack will be available at 8:15 a.m. Check in for the afternoon session will take place at noon. A light pizza lunch will be served.

Will lunch be provided?

Lunch will be provided free of charge for students participating in this event. During the on-campus events, lunch will be in SPU's Crossroads in Gwinn Commons. Lunch will be available for guests and family members for $6.75 each. Cash only!

During the off-campus events, a complimentary pizza lunch will be provided for all students and their guests.

What shall I bring with me?

Bring copies of transcripts for any classes you have completed since you applied, and ideas for first quarter classes.

How do I get to campus from the airport?

We have found that Shuttle Express provides good service at a reasonable rate. Call them at

I’m not from the local area. Are there any housing options on campus during the event?

For the May 16 event only, students may contact Undergraduate Admissions at 800-366-3344 or 206-281-2021 to arrange a stay with an SPU student in a campus residence hall. These accommodations are for students only. Friday, May 1, is the deadline to request on-campus housing for the May 16 New Student Advising event.

For all other events, you may consider these off-campus accommodations located near SPU.
