From the DirectorLadies and Gentlemen — welcome. It’s a brand new day.We are building on the foundation of the past, but this is the day for us to learn in a fresh way what it means to be God’s people here and now. Gather around, come together. Let us allow God to embrace us and form our thinking. If you’re a Christian believer, it’s time to step up and get involved. And if you’re not, please come gather with us and we’ll all learn more about the amazing story of God’s love and work in the world. Take some time to explore this website, and discover how you can get involved with worship, small groups, the 37five Project, and other opportunities for fellowship and growth. I’m honored to serve here, a responsibility I take very seriously. My prayer is that I will do what I have been called to do. This is the time for me to step up, and I hope you will join me.  Stephen Michael Newby, D.M.A., is the director of the Office of University Ministries (OUM) and the Center for Worship (CFW) at SPU. OUM/CFW seeks to promote Christian community formation on the SPU campus and in the local church community. To achieve this goal, we work together with students, faculty, and staff to develop programs that gather us together as a community, encourage deeper relationships, and empower students to invest in God’s work in the world. |
