Transfer Students

Transfer Credit Information


SPU welcomes students interested in transferring from any institution. Students transferring from a regionally accredited institution or from an Association for Biblical Higher Education (ABHE) accredited institution will typically receive the maximum number of allowable credits to transfer. Credits from an unaccredited institution will be evaluated on an individual basis.

  1. Official transcripts from all post-secondary institutions must be submitted.
  2. A maximum of 90 credits can transfer from all two-year colleges, AP, CLEP and I.B. combined.
  3. Though students attending an accredited 4-year college or university can transfer more than 90 credits a minimum of 45 credits must be completed at SPU to earn a degree.
  4. Students transferring from a school operating on a semester calendar will have their units multiplied by 1.5 (example: 30 semester units = 45 quarter credits).
