Transfer Students
Direct Admission to Your Major
Do you already know what you want to major
in at SPU? Good News! Transfer students now have the
opportunity to apply for direct admission to a
major at the time you submit an application to
Seattle Pacific University.
Who's eligible?
If you plan to complete an approved direct
transfer associate’s degree or 90 college-level
quarter credits prior to enrolling at Seattle
Pacific University, you could be eligible to
apply for direct admission into one of the
following majors listed below. Your eligibilty for direct admission will be evaluated based on GPA and completion of the pre-requisite coursework related to your major of interest. If you have not completed the pre-requisite coursework outlined below, you will apply for general admission to the university and will have the opportunity to apply to your major once you have begun your course of study at SPU.

Completion of at least four of the courses listed below:
- Financial Accounting
- Managerial Accounting
- Intro to Statistics
- Microeconomics
- Macroeconomics
- Business Law

Clothing and Textiles:
Apparel Design |
Completion of either a general art based course or a general basic sewing course |
Clothing and Textiles:
Fashion Merchandising |
Completion of either a marketing of business related course |
| Communications |
Completion of at least two communication based courses, preferably:
- Interpersonal Communication
- Public Speaking

| Computer Science |
Completion of at least three computing courses, including the following two courses:
- Problem Solving and Programming
- Data Structures 1
|
| Economics |
See Business Administration list above |
| Education |
Completion of at least one of the courses listed below:
- General Psychology
- Intro to Sociology
- Intro to Anthropology
Please also complete the School of Education-Foundations Paperwork and submit it with your application to the Office of Undergradate Admissions

Completion of a full year of College Calculus |

Completion of at least two literature based courses (this does not include composition based courses) |

Completion of the following nursing pre-requisite courses:
- Anatomy and Physiology (both courses must be completed at the same school)
- General College Chemistry
- Organic Biochemistry
- General Psychology
- Developmental Psychology
- Nutrition
- Microbiology
- Statistics

You must submit your application by the April 1 deadline* to be reviewed
for direct admission into a major.
Nursing major *
Application to the university and to the Nursing major must be submitted by January 15. Students are admitted for fall quarter only.
